A few years ago, teachers and students decided¹ to do something about the enviromental problems they had.
Deforestation and bad management of waste were² their main concerns.
As a result, they created³ an enviromental group to look for solutions.
First, they researched⁴ information about the people, their businesses and the impact of their actions.
Then, they organized⁵ a campaign to protect the rivers in their town.
They talked⁶ to the local authorities about prohibiting the industries from dumping waste.
They started⁷ teaching people about recycling methods and the whole town signed⁸ a petition to stop the destruction of their forests.
They planted⁹ more than 2, 000 trees near the river.
Now people in our town were¹⁰ happy with the results.
Liliana, a 15 - years - old student at La Paz School, said : Now we have¹¹ lots of trees around our houses and parks, the rivers are clean, and we understand that when people work together to support a cause, the little things that everyone does¹² can create big changes.

Hace unos años, profesores y alumnos decidieron¹ hacer algo acerca de los problemas ambientales que tenían.
La deforestación y la mala gestión de los residuos eran² sus principales preocupaciones.
Como resultado, crearon³ un grupo medioambiental para buscar soluciones.
Primero, recogieron⁴ información sobre las personas, sus negocios y el impacto de sus acciones.
Luego, organizaron⁵ una campaña para proteger los ríos en su ciudad.
Hablaron⁶ con las autoridades locales sobre prohibir que las industrias viertan residuos.
Comenzaron⁷ enseñando a la gente sobre métodos de reciclaje y todo el pueblo firmó⁸ una petición para detener la destrucción de sus bosques.
Plantaron⁹ más de 2, 000 árboles cerca del río.
Ahora la gente de nuestro pueblo estaba¹⁰ feliz con los resultados.
Liliana, una estudiante de 15 años en la Escuela La Paz, dijo : Ahora tenemos¹¹ muchos árboles alrededor de nuestras casas y parques, los ríos están limpios y entendemos que cuando las personas trabajan juntas para apoyar una causa, las pequeñas cosas que cada uno hace¹², pueden crear grandes cambios.
