Bueno, primero que nada, eso que mencionas es futuro continuo, pero si me pides que sea en pasado simple es así :

Next year, I went to Londres because my whole life I have been interested in learn about different cultures so my last vacations, I decided to go to Londres for three weeks.

I visited downtown and knew a lot of people, now I could say that british people are friendly and polite because I do not speak english fluently but they tried to understand me, it was one of my most wonderful experiences in my life and I wish I could go back to my London days.
