El past simple lo usas cuando quieres explicar algo que sucedió en el pasado.
Pero para explicar que algo pasó ANTES que eso, se utiliza el Past Perfect Simple.
Te recomiendo estudiar la tabla de conjugación de verbos irregulares y la próxima tú mismo lo puedas hacer ; D.
