5x - 4y = 12 x(3) = 15x - 12y = 36 (2)
(1) + (2) 18y = - 84 y = - 84 / 18 = - 14 / 6
5x - 4( - 14 / 6) = 12
5x + 56 / 6 = 12
30x + 56 = 36 30x = 36 - 56 30x = - 20 x = - 20 / 30 x = - 2 / 3.
